« Does what I see exist or is it the fruit of my imagination? »
Anne Pery’s early photographic research, in black and white, examined her own questions about the gap between the imagined, the perceived and the real.
Taking a picture of a post because the sea in the background looks like it’s penetrating it, printing the photograph to make sure that she wasn’t just seeing things. Not showing it to anybody because nobody else was there to see this tiny detail: “the sea eating the post”. Also thinking that nobody but her would need to check it.
